2019 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Recap

VITA Helped More Than 3,000 People in the 2019 Tax Season

The VITA volunteers spent 4,118 hours assisting 3,930 people in the 2019 tax season. This marks a 5.7% increase in the number of filed tax returns compared to the 2018 season, when the volunteers filed 3,716 tax returns. This essential, free service helped these taxpayers get $4,107,505 back into their pockets. With an average savings of $200 in preparation fees per person, VITA saved participants approximately $786,000.
