The Fund Distribution Process

The funding distribution process is a critical component of our mission. We rely on community donors to serve on a volunteer panel which evaluates agency applications and makes funding recommendations to our board of directors. Review panel volunteers are expected to be stakeholders in the United Way Community Investment Fund.

It is the role and responsibility of volunteer panel members to approach each agency in good faith, with goodwill and without any preconceptions or extraneous agendas, to give objective feedback to agency executives and other panel members. Panel members must be able and willing to listen, ask questions as needed and learn.

Commitment
Training 1 1/2 hour allocation process and outcome measures training January
Meetings Estimated 4-5 agency program review and allocation panel meetings February
Service 3 year minimum term of service (although not required)

The volunteer's reward is knowing that donor gifts are being spent on programs that have measurable outcomes in the community - really making a difference.
