Caller-Times Children's Christmas Appeal

The Gift of a Happy Holiday

Every child deserves to have a happy holiday season. However, thousands of children in Corpus Christi and outlying counties are at-risk of not having such an experience. The Corpus Christi Caller-Times Children's Christmas Appeal (Christmas Appeal) is an annual initiative powered by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, United Way of the Coastal Bend and area agencies that provides these children with the happy holiday they so desire. Christmas Appeal has raised millions of dollars since its inception in 1973 – touching the lives of countless children in need.

How it Works

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times shares stories of children whose families were recommended for a feature by Coastal Bend agencies. Recommended families are often in crisis due to medical problems, a death in the family, job loss or a similar situation and aren't able to provide gifts. These stories are shared in the hopes that readers will donate to the cause. Donations are sent to the recommending agencies so they can provide these children with the gift or the money needed to purchase the gift that they've asked for. Many times, the desired gift items are basic needs like a bed, new clothes and other necessities.

Donate to Christmas Appeal

Overhead costs are covered by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, United Way of the Coastal Bend and other participating agencies so 100% of the proceeds go to the children. Check back this fall for instructions on how to donate.
