Celebrate Week of the Young Child

We're Wild About Week of the Young Child!

When: Saturday, April 21st from 10am-6pm
Where: La Retama Library, 805 Comanche 

Success By 6 invites you to this special community event at the close of Week of the Young Child, a week dedicated to literacy and early learners. Families can enjoy a free celebration of books, art and music hosted by La Retama Library with a fun "Wild About" theme. There will be fun activities for children from 10am-1pm and for teens from noon-6pm. Download the event flyer.

Special activities for children include:

  • Wild About Animals: see live birds, a baby alligator and Dinos Alive
  • Wild About Art: enjoy a painting center, crafts and Lily Padz face painting
  • Wild About Building: create a masterpiece with cardboard boxes in our Building Block Center
  • Come dressed as your favorite character!

Special activities for teens include:

  • Live music from Independent Thieves
  • Digital animation demonstration by Angel McBride
  • Like No Other body art
  • Cherry blossom painting
  • Origami
  • and more!
