A team of volunteers from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Higginbotham, NuStar and Valero joined United Way staff for the 2018 Day of Action on Thursday, June 21st. Day of Action is a nationwide event where local United Ways gather generous volunteers and take on projects that better the community.
“When it comes to giving, time and action are as valuable as the funds we receive,” said Catrina Wilson, President & CEO of United Way of the Coastal Bend. “Volunteerism is a key component of a philanthropic community.”
This year's event involved interior paitning at Charlie's Place Recovery Center – the largest non-profit residential treatment center in South Texas.
From 9am to noon, everyone grabbed a paintbrush and gave a total of 13 rooms a fresh coat of white paint. Coming together to take action shows that we achieve so much more when we all work together.
