Financial Stability Goal: Increase the number of financially stable families in the Coastal Bend
The key to long-term financial stability is the ability to get and keep a job that pays a living wage. We help people in crisis gain the long-term stability needed to move forward by supporting programs that provide job training, help with job placement, adult literacy courses, financial education and emergency support services. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program helps low- to moderate-income families file their tax returns and claim every tax credit to which they are eligible. Putting more money back into the pockets of our taxpayers equates to more money in our local economy.
In the 2016-2017 fiscal year, we provided grants to 9 area programs providing services that align with the strategies below.
