United Way of the Coastal Bend provides $40,000 to local COVID-19 response and recovery efforts

Efforts to assist Coastal Bend residents impacted by COVID-19 are getting some extra help thanks to $40,000 provided through United Way of the Coastal Bend’s COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.

With 100 percent of donations going toward COVID-19 response and recovery efforts, the fund was established by United Way of the Coastal Bend to support local non-profit agencies providing direct services, as well as community efforts aimed at minimizing the health and economic impacts of the virus. To date, the fund has raised over $65,000, with additional donations anticipated to follow in the upcoming weeks.

This initial disbursement from the COVID-19 fund was made possible through an anonymous donation, and have been designated to the following local agencies:

  • $10,000 – Coastal Bend Food Bank
  • $10,000 – Corpus Christi Metro Ministries
  • $5,000 – The Salvation Army – Corpus Christi
  • $5,000 – Timon’s Ministries
