Free workshop addresses cumulative stress, self-care practices

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – This time of year brings joy to many, but it can also be a time of increased stress and anxiety. Paired with the stress of navigating lingering effects of the pandemic, and it’s become increasingly important to know how to manage that stress and prioritize one’s mental health. That’s why United Way of the Coastal Bend is hosting a free virtual Real Talk workshop on cumulative stress and self-care.

"As we've worked to serve our community, we've seen the ongoing financial and emotional effects the pandemic has had on everyone," said Donna Hurley, Vice President of Community Impact for United Way of the Coastal Bend. "By offering this workshop, we hope it will help everyone understand the effects of cumulative stress and develop healthy ways to manage it."

The virtual workshop will take place Tuesday, Dec. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. The one-hour workshop will discuss the nature and effects of cumulative stress and look at evidence-based self-care practices to help participants cope.
