Funding available for local non-profits providing COVID-19 relief

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Local non-profit organizations providing direct services to those affected by COVID-19 may qualify for financial assistance through United Way of the Coastal Bend.

United Way of the Coastal Bend’s COVID-19 Fund was established in March to aid local response and recovery efforts. The fund offers financial resources to area non-profits so that they can provide food, rent/utility assistance, healthcare, and other direct services to Coastal Bend residents affected by the pandemic.

"The level of support we’ve received from the community has been tremendous," said Libby Averyt, President & CEO of United Way of the Coastal Bend. "Through their generosity, we’ve been able to assist more than 30 organizations and help more than 90,000 Coastal Bend residents. With funds still remaining, we’re hoping to help support many more.”

Agencies who qualify must use awarded funds to provide direct services related to the effects of COVID-19 in United Way of the Coastal Bend’s service area. This includes the counties of Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio and San Patricio.
