Most of us have experienced grief in some way due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the virtual panel discussion held on June 15, 2021, we explored different types and signs of grief, the importance of self-care, and helpful resources available.

ABOUT OUR PANELISTS

Kristi PhillipsKristi Phillips, LMFT-S, has a Master’s Degree in Family Therapy and has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 17 years. She has specialized training working with kids who have experienced trauma, anxiety and depression as well as specialized training in therapy with families and couples. She has worked at Family Counseling Service for nine years and currently serves as its Executive Director.

 

 

 

Dr. Nelly Garcia Blow is a doctor of osteopathic medicine who is board certified in family medicine and geriatrics. She provides local geriatric consults for older injured patients at CHRISTUS Spohn’s Level II Trauma Center. After attending medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her Family Medicine Residency and Geriatric fellowship at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Memorial.
